Hi There!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Bhagyashree (you can call me BK) and I work as an Application Developer at the local software company here in SoCal. I've done my Computer Engineering from Pune University, India. I am also a Founder of the Online community for Marathi Women (women who can read/write/talk Marathi language) - called maitrin.com. It's a side project of mine which has become quite popular in the regional circle. We have about 1300+ registered users/a.k.a. awesome women all over the world and about 10 Million views till date. It's based on the Drupal CMS and I am the developer/webmaster of the website too.

Anyway, so back to this blog. Why this name? Usually we wish to have a mastery at something and not just be a jack(or jill) of all trades. Well, I don't want to be either. But I still chose this name because I know what all things I need to learn, which books I need to read, which side projects I want to start and make them successful.. I have a sky full of ambitions and dreams and I being a true practical person (with a little inclination of being pessimistic) I know I am not there yet, where I can call myself a master. I guess I'll forever be a student. I would love to! Learning something new is a great obsession to have imo. Even though I'm a Computer Engineer, and I programmed in C/C++/Java those days, I had to taught myself web dev, most of HTML/CSS/Js, CMSs like Drupal, WordPress, a lot of React and a little bit of Python.

A huge part of why am I still a jill of all is I have son with significant special needs. He is 10year old, with moderate to severe Autism and most importantly a non verbal chatterbox. Taking care of him, understanding his needs is (& will) always going to be my first priority and that invariably hampers my attention, focus, and calm. But hey, he is also my biggest motivator to be a better person, parent and a programmer. So no regrets about being jill of all. But I do have aspirations of becoming master of all too! This blog will probably help me journaling that journey which consists of Software development, Autism, lots of learning and lots (& lots & lots) of books. Let's see how it unfolds. ๐Ÿ™‚
